Nirali vs Franke Kitchen Sinks - Which Should You Buy?

Short answer

Buy Nirali if you want the widest choice of sizes and a published price — 286 listings in 65 sizes, from 12 x 12 in to 79 x 20 in, at ₹1,539 – ₹68,863 with a median of ₹13,681. Buy Franke if you want a specific Franke design — the Mythos Masterpiece in PVD gold, copper or anthracite, a Box or Mythos sink for under-mount fitting, or a Premium inset sink with a reversible drainboard — and are happy to ask for a price. Every Franke product at Padmavati Ceramics is price on request, because Franke India publishes no prices. We list 22 Franke sinks in 14 sizes. On size alone Nirali nearly always has the closer fit; Franke states the fitting type, bowl depth and minimum cabinet for every model, and supplies a waste kit with every sink.

Where each brand actually wins

Nirali wins on size coverage. This is the single biggest practical difference. Nirali lists 65 distinct sizes; the Franke sinks we list come in 14. If you are replacing a sink in an existing granite cut-out — where you cannot go smaller — Nirali is far more likely to have your exact dimension.

Nirali wins on a price you can see. Every Nirali sink carries a listed price, and 109 are under ₹10,000 — most of them in the Popular and Orbis ranges, with 11 quartz sinks among them. Franke is quoted on request.

Nirali wins on quartz choice. 55 quartz sinks in 13 colours and 10 sizes, against one Franke Fragranite sink in Onyx.

Nirali states its steel thickness. 1 mm on most ranges, 1.2 mm on Expell and Magnus Premium, and 1.5 mm on Glister, in AISI 304 steel. For the Franke sinks we list, Franke's own article names specify 1 mm on two Premium models and are silent on the rest.

Franke wins on fitting options. Franke rates each sink for a fitting type: 13 inset, 1 top-mount, and 8 for flush-mount and slim-top, 7 of which are also rated for under-mount. Nirali's product data does not state a fitting type, so confirm with us before planning an under-mount Nirali.

Franke wins on coloured steel. The Mythos Masterpiece comes in gold, copper and anthracite PVD. Nirali's steel finishes are satin, glossy, anti-scratch and hairline satin.

Franke wins on what comes in the box. Every Franke sink we list includes a waste kit, and Box, Box Center and Mythos also include the siphon. Nirali sells its waste coupling as a separate accessory.

Like-for-like, at each budget

Franke is price on request, so it cannot be placed in a budget band. What we can set against each Nirali price is the Franke model at the same size.

Two pairs are near rather than exact: the Lugano is a 440 mm round bowl against Nirali's square, and the Urban UBG 610-56 is 22 x 19.5 in. At the top, the Nirali Era (Expell range, 1.2 mm steel) shares its 36 x 20 in footprint with Franke's Premium 611 X Omni; for coloured PVD steel, Franke's Mythos Masterpiece comes in 21.3 x 17.7 in and 28.5 x 18 in.

At the sizes both brands cover, let the exact dimension, the bowl depth and the fitting type decide. If you want a sink set under a stone counter or flush with it, Franke publishes that rating model by model; if you want a size Franke does not make, Nirali is the only option of the two.

Composite vs composite

Nirali quartz and Franke Fragranite are the same class of material — stone composites. Both are quiet and available in colour, and both can chip at the rim from a hard impact.

Nirali's quartz comes in two ranges: Quartz Elite (28 models, ₹7,846 – ₹21,093) and Quartz Premium (27 models, ₹19,827 – ₹39,976). The single Franke composite we list is a compact inset single bowl with two pre-drilled tap holes and an overflow.

Warranty and service

Both carry the manufacturer's warranty as published for the specific model, and both are supplied by us against a GST invoice — which is what any service visit will ask for. We are an authorized Nirali dealer.

Choose Nirali if: you are replacing a sink in an existing cut-out; you want to see the price before you call; you want quartz in a particular colour or size; you need an unusual size, very small or very long; or you are fitting out multiple flats and want one range across sizes.

Choose Franke if: you want an under-mount or flush-mount sink with the fitting rating stated by the maker; you want coloured PVD steel; you want a reversible drainboard in a standard inset size; or you specifically want the Mythos Masterpiece or Box look.
