Jaquar has the widest choice — 121 models across series like Continental, Kubix Prime and Queens, in every finish Jaquar offers. If you already have Jaquar taps, matching accessories from the same series is the easy win.
Cera is the value option at a ₹1,890 median, with a genuinely usable range from ₹441.
Kohler sits at a similar median to Jaquar but with a more restrained design language, and covers accessibility items like shower seats.
Match the series, not just the finish
This is the advice we give most often in the showroom, and the one people most often ignore until the bathroom is done.
Every brand's accessories come in series — Jaquar's Continental, Kubix Prime, Opal, Queens; Cera's Ormond and Bold; Kohler's Complementary and Accent. Within a series, the mounting plates, tube diameters and corner radii all match. Across series they do not, and the mismatch is obvious on the wall even when everything is the same chrome.
Buy the whole set from one series in one go. Two years later that series may have been discontinued, and adding a matching piece becomes impossible.
Choosing a finish
Match the accessories to the taps, not to the tiles. Tiles change with fashion; your fittings are the thing the eye reads as a set. If your taps are chrome, buy chrome accessories — a black matt towel rail next to a chrome tap looks like a mistake rather than a choice. The finish guide covers durability and care in detail.
Where to actually mount things
Fitting positions are decided at the tiling stage, and getting them wrong is expensive to fix.
- Towel rod: roughly 1200 mm from the floor, on a dry wall within reach of the shower — but out of the spray. A wet towel rail defeats the purpose.
- Towel ring: beside the basin, roughly 1000 mm up, close enough to reach with wet hands without dripping across the floor.
- Robe hook: roughly 1600–1700 mm, on the dry side or behind the door.
- Toilet roll holder: roughly 700 mm from the floor and 200–300 mm forward of the WC's front edge — reachable while seated.
- Soap dish in the shower: roughly 1200 mm, out of the direct spray so the soap does not dissolve.
- Grab bar beside the WC: roughly 750–800 mm, and it must be fixed into solid masonry, never into tile alone.
Mark all of these on the wall before tiling. Drilling a large-format tile afterwards risks cracking it.
Fitting: drilled or adhesive?
Drilled and plugged is the right answer for anything load-bearing — towel rods, towel racks, grab bars. Anything that takes a wet towel's weight or a person's weight must be mechanically fixed.
Adhesive mounting is acceptable for light pieces (soap dish, tumbler holder) and is the pragmatic choice in a rental where you cannot drill. It is not acceptable for a grab bar under any circumstances.
When drilling tile: use a tile bit, start slow with masking tape over the mark to stop the bit wandering, and drill into the grout line where you can.
A sensible shopping list
Basic bathroom, ₹1,800 – ₹3,500: towel rod, towel ring, robe hook, soap dish, toilet roll holder in Cera or entry Jaquar chrome.
Standard family bathroom, ₹4,000 – ₹9,000: the full seven-piece set in a single Jaquar series, chrome.
Designer bathroom, ₹12,000+: full set in black matt, gold or antique finish, series-matched to the taps.
Elderly or accessibility needs: add grab bars beside the WC and in the shower, and consider a shower seat. Fix everything into masonry.
