Gold bright PVD and gold matt PVD are the two real choices — they carry 358 of the 462 products between them, and they are the two you can actually complete a bathroom in. Gold dust and full gold exist mainly on showers and statement pieces; specifying a whole room in either means accepting long lead times and gaps.
If you are undecided: gold matt PVD is the safer buy. Bright gold shows every water spot and fingerprint, and in Mumbai's hard water it needs daily wiping to look like the showroom. Matt gold forgives.

Read that table before you commit
Look at the shape of the gold range: 58 hand showers and 56 overhead showers, but only 28 basin mixers and 6 kitchen taps.
Gold is a shower range. Jaquar has built it around the wet area, where a gold rain shower against dark tile is the photograph everyone wants. The basin and the kitchen are afterthoughts by comparison.

What a full gold bathroom costs
Roughly double a chrome bathroom and about 50% more than the same room in black. The gold premium is heaviest on the basin mixer and the spout.
Caring for gold PVD
PVD is a vacuum-deposited metal coating — hard, and far more tarnish-resistant than the electroplated "gold" fittings sold cheaply in the market. It does not flake or go green. Jaquar's 10-year faucet warranty applies.
What kills it is chemistry, not wear:
- No acidic cleaner, ever. No Harpic, no CIF, no descaler, no scouring pad. One wipe with a toilet cleaner is enough to dull a gold flange permanently, and that is not a warranty claim.
- Plain water and a microfibre cloth. Dry after use in hard water.
- Bright gold needs this daily to look right; matt gold weekly.
If you are not going to do this, buy matt gold or buy chrome. A neglected bright-gold bathroom looks worse after two years than a chrome one does after ten.
