Nothing in Continental is expensive, because that is the point of it. A robe hook is ₹360, a basin-area stop valve ₹520, a flush plate ₹594, a WC-area tap from ₹580, a basin mixer ₹2,000–₹6,500, a kitchen sink tap ₹2,090–₹6,300 and the dearest item in the range — a 3-way wall mixer — is ₹8,200. If your budget will not stretch to a Prime series but you want real Jaquar with Jaquar's warranty, this is the range. Prices are live selling prices, a median of about 12% below Jaquar MRP.

Continental vs Continental Prime
They are two ranges, not one, and the difference is worth knowing:
Continental is the older, broader range — 227 of its products are bath accessories, and it carries the full 10-finish spread including black matt, gold PVD and antique bronze. Continental Prime is the newer, tighter one: fewer products, mostly working taps and valves, and a lower median because it skips the decorative pieces.
For a full bathroom on a budget, you will usually mix them — Continental Prime for the taps and valves, Continental for the towel rail and hooks.
What a complete Continental bathroom costs
This is the number people actually want. One bathroom, chrome, everything genuine Jaquar:
The same bathroom in Kubix Prime or Opal Prime lands between ₹35,000 and ₹50,000. That is the trade, stated plainly.
What you give up
Being honest about it, because a cheap fitting that disappoints is worse than no sale:
Design. Continental is a plain, rounded, utilitarian shape. It looks like a well-made ordinary tap, because it is one. Nobody will compliment it.
Finish range on the working parts. The taps are effectively chrome. 110 of the 299 Continental products are chrome, and the coloured finishes concentrate in the accessories. You cannot do a black-matt Continental bathroom — for that you need Opal Prime or Kubix Prime.
Single-lever mixers. Continental is largely a two-handle and quarter-turn range. If you want the single-lever cartridge action, you are shopping in the Prime series.
What you do not give up: Jaquar's brass bodies, Jaquar's ceramic cartridges, Jaquar's warranty and Jaquar's service network. A Continental tap is not a lower-grade tap. It is a plainer one.
Where Continental is the right answer
- Rental flats. Tenants damage fittings. ₹360 robe hooks are replaceable without argument.
- Second and third bathrooms. Spend the design budget on the master bathroom and specify Continental everywhere else. Nobody photographs the guest toilet.
- Staff toilets and utility areas in offices, clinics and shops.
- Under-vanity valves anywhere. A ₹520 Continental Prime stop valve behind a closed cabinet does exactly what a ₹4,710 one does.

Where it is not
Do not put Continental on a visible wall-hung basin in a bathroom you have spent money tiling. The mismatch shows. And do not mix Continental taps with Prime-series accessories in the same room — two different chromes at two different ages read as a mistake, not a saving.
