Health Faucet Guide (India): Jet Spray, Tube, Hook & What to Spend

A health faucet set is the gun, tube and hook - plus a two-way bib cock or stop cock to feed it. Prices run ₹800 to ₹6,500, and above about ₹2,000 you are buying finish, not function.

Short answer

A health faucet (jet spray, bidet spray, hand spray) is a three-part purchase: the spray gun, the flexible tube and the wall hook — and a stop cock or two-way bib cock to feed it. Most sets include the gun, a 1–1.5 metre tube and a hook. Prices run from ₹800 to ₹6,500 across the brands we stock, and honestly, anything above about ₹2,000 is buying finish and brand rather than function — this is one category where the value option genuinely does the job. The parts that fail are the tube (kinks and splits) and the trigger valve; both are replaceable, so buy from a brand whose spares you can actually get. Essco starts at ₹800, Jaquar at ₹1,190, and both are Jaquar Group products with a real service network.

In detail

What is in the box, and what is not

A health faucet set normally includes:

  • The spray gun — trigger-operated, usually with a lock-off so it does not drip.
  • The flexible tube — typically 1 to 1.5 metres, braided stainless steel over an inner hose.
  • The wall hook — holds the gun when not in use.

What is usually not included: the water supply point. The tube has to connect to something. In most Indian bathrooms that is either:

  • A two-way bib cock — one outlet for a bucket tap, one for the health faucet, controlled separately. The commonest arrangement.
  • A dedicated angle valve or stop cock on the wall beside the WC.

If you are fitting a health faucet where there was none, budget for that valve too. Our WC area faucets category covers two-way bib cocks and stop cocks from ₹580.

Where the money goes above ₹2,000

Be clear-eyed about this. A ₹800 Essco health faucet and a ₹4,030 Jaquar gold-PVD health faucet deliver the same spray. What the extra buys is:

  • Finish. Chrome is ₹800 – ₹1,500 territory. Black matt, gold, gold PVD and antique finishes are what push the price to ₹4,000+. If your WC-area fittings are black matt or gold, a chrome health faucet will look wrong, and that is a legitimate reason to spend.
  • Trigger feel and build. Premium guns have a smoother trigger and a more solid lock. Real, but marginal.
  • Tube quality. Better braiding resists kinking. This genuinely affects lifespan.

If your fittings are chrome and the bathroom is a family or guest bathroom, buy the value option and spend the difference elsewhere. If you are matching a designer finish, buy to match.

What actually fails, and what to do about it

In our experience these are the failure modes, in order of frequency:

  1. The tube kinks or splits. Almost always at the gun end, where it bends every use. Replaceable — buy a new tube, not a new set.
  2. The trigger drips. The internal valve washer wears. Some guns are serviceable; many are not, in which case you replace the gun and keep the tube and hook.
  3. Scale blocks the spray face. Hard water. Soak the gun face in dilute citric acid or white vinegar for an hour and rub the holes.
  4. The hook pulls out of the wall. Fixed into tile alone instead of into masonry, or into a hollow plug that could not take repeated tugging.

Because the tube and gun are the consumables, buy a brand whose parts you can replace locally. Essco and Jaquar are the same group with a dense Indian service network, which is a bigger practical advantage in this category than any specification.

Fitting notes

  • Hook height: roughly 600–700 mm from the floor, on the wall beside the WC and within easy seated reach. Mount it on the same side as the water point so the tube does not stretch across.
  • Fix into masonry, not into tile alone. The gun gets pulled every single use, and a hook fixed into a tile face will eventually crack it out.
  • Leave a gentle loop in the tube rather than a tight bend at the gun. This is the single thing that most extends tube life.
  • Shut the feed valve when travelling. The tube is under mains pressure permanently, and a split while you are away is a flooded bathroom.

Choosing, in one line each

  • Rental, staff or guest bathroom, chrome fittings: Essco at ₹800 – ₹1,060. Genuine Jaquar Group, replaceable parts, does the job.
  • Family bathroom, chrome: Jaquar Allied at ₹1,190, or Cera at ₹936 – ₹2,025.
  • Designer bathroom with black matt, gold or antique fittings: match the finish with Jaquar's PVD range, ₹4,030 – ₹5,730.
  • Fitting out several bathrooms: buy the same model throughout so one spare tube fits everything.

FAQ

How much should a health faucet cost?

₹800 to ₹6,500 across brands, but anything above about ₹2,000 is buying finish and brand rather than function. Essco starts at ₹800, Cera at ₹936 and Jaquar at ₹1,190. Spend more only if you need to match a black matt, gold or antique finish in the WC area.

What is included with a health faucet?

The spray gun, a flexible tube of roughly 1 to 1.5 metres, and a wall hook. What is not included is the water supply point - you also need a two-way bib cock or a dedicated angle valve or stop cock beside the WC, from around ₹580.

Why does my health faucet keep leaking or dripping?

The two commonest failures are a kinked or split tube (almost always at the gun end where it bends every use) and a worn trigger valve washer. Both are replaceable - buy a new tube or gun rather than a whole new set. Leave a gentle loop in the tube rather than a tight bend to extend its life.
