Short answer

A Jaquar Integra heat pump water heater costs ₹1,67,500 to ₹2,93,500 with us (200 to 500 litres), at Jaquar's 2026 NRP. It heats water by moving heat out of the surrounding air instead of making it with an element, so it uses roughly a quarter of the electricity of an ordinary electric water heater for the same hot water — Jaquar lists the Integra-X split models at a COP of about 4.2. It costs much more to buy than Jaquar's Verna floor-standing heater (₹71,000–₹1,17,500 for 225–500 litres), and it pays that back only where a lot of hot water is used every day: a large family home, a clinic, a small hotel.

The figures are from Jaquar's spec sheets. The Integra-X grey listings give COPs of 4.21 (200 L), 4.15 (300 L), 4.18 (400 L) and 4.16 (500 L). Each split unit also has a backup electric element (3 kW at 200–300 L, 4 kW at 400–500 L). The split models use R410a refrigerant and the monobloc R134a. The grey and white versions of each size are listed at the same price.

What it saves, worked through

Heating water takes 1.16 watt-hours per litre per degree. A household using 300 litres a day, heated from 25°C to 55°C, needs about 10.5 kWh of heat a day.

Electricity per dayAt ₹10 a unitPer month
Element heater (Verna, geyser)about 10.5 kWhabout ₹105about ₹3,150
Integra-X heat pump at COP 4.15about 2.5 kWhabout ₹25about ₹760

That is roughly ₹2,400 a month saved at this usage and an assumed ₹10 a unit — check your own tariff. Against a Verna 300 litre (₹79,000) the Integra-X 300 litre (₹1,92,000) costs ₹1,13,000 more, so at this usage the difference pays back in about four years. Use half the water and it takes twice as long; in a home using 100 litres a day, it rarely makes sense.

Things to check before buying

  • Space and air. A split unit has an outdoor-style heat pump unit and a separate tank (Jaquar gives the 300 L Integra-X unit as 385 x 550 x 936 mm and its tank as 685 mm across by 1360 mm high). The unit needs open air to draw heat from.
  • Ambient temperature. Jaquar lists the Integra-X as working from −7 to 43°C ambient, so it suits Indian climates including north-Indian winters, with the backup element covering the coldest mornings.
  • Warranty. Where Jaquar's page states it: 4 years on the tank, 2–3 years on the heating element and on the compressor with its sealed system, and 1–2 years on other components, depending on the model.

FAQ

What is the price of a Jaquar heat pump water heater?

₹1,67,500 to ₹2,93,500 at Jaquar's 2026 NRP: about ₹1,67,500 for 200 litres, ₹1,92,000 for 300 litres, ₹2,52,500 for 400 litres and ₹2,68,000 to ₹2,93,500 for 500 litres.

How much electricity does a Jaquar heat pump save?

Jaquar lists the Integra-X models at a COP of 4.15 to 4.21, so they use roughly a quarter of the electricity of an element heater for the same hot water. For 300 litres a day heated by 30°C that is about 2.5 units instead of 10.5.

Is a heat pump worth it for a home?

Only where a lot of hot water is used every day - a large family home, a clinic, a small hotel. For one or two bathrooms, a storage geyser costs a fraction as much and the electricity saving would take many years to repay the difference.
