Short answer
Budget ₹12,000–₹18,000 per bathroom for a genuine value-brand fitting set, ₹32,000–₹50,000 for a well-specified everyday bathroom, and ₹95,000+ for a design-led one. Those are fittings only — taps, mixers, shower, valves, wastes and accessories. They exclude sanitaryware (WC, basin, cistern), tiles, plumbing labour and civil work, which in a Mumbai renovation usually cost more than the fittings do. For a typical Mumbai 2 BHK with two bathrooms and a kitchen, a realistic all-in fittings figure is ₹60,000–₹1,10,000 at the everyday specification.
In detail
What "bathroom fittings" covers, and what it does not
This is the distinction that makes most Mumbai renovation budgets wrong.
We are a bath fittings dealer and do not sell sanitaryware. In a full Mumbai bathroom renovation, fittings are typically a third or less of the total spend — but they are the third you touch every day.
Per-bathroom fitting cost, three levels
Value is Essco and Cera in chrome. Everyday is mid-range Jaquar. Design-led is Jaquar's Prime series in a PVD finish, or Kohler and Grohe.
The kitchen
The single most common kitchen mistake in Mumbai flats is buying the sink before measuring the base cabinet. Builder kitchens in newer towers are frequently built to a 24-inch cabinet, which rules out the 34 x 20 inch double bowl most people picture. Measure first — kitchen sink size guide.
A worked example: Mumbai 2 BHK, everyday specification
That is the specification we quote most often across Borivali, Kandivali, Malad and Dahisar, and it is deliberately mixed: the money sits in the bathroom people use every day.
The three lines that blow Mumbai budgets
1. The concealed valve. Every concealed mixer or diverter needs a valve body in the wall — ₹830 to ₹78,750. People price the visible trim, discover the valve at installation, and by then the wall is open. Read which Jaquar concealed valve you need before you buy any concealed fitting.
2. Angle and stop valves. Three or four per bathroom, and in a premium finish they run ₹4,710 each against ₹520 in chrome. This is the easiest saving on any quote: nobody sees the valves under a vanity.
3. The finish. The same fitting in gold or graphite costs 25–90% more than chrome. Choose the finish before you set the budget, not after.
What renovation labour and civil work typically add
We do not do civil work, so treat this as orientation rather than a quote: in Mumbai, plumbing labour, tile removal and refit, waterproofing and making good usually cost more than the fittings for a full bathroom strip-down. This is why a retrofit that reuses the existing plumbing points is dramatically cheaper than one that moves them.
If you can work with the outlets you already have, exposed fittings — wall mixers and deck-mounted basin mixers — let you finish a bathroom in a day or two with no chasing. Concealed systems mean the wall is open for a week. See concealed vs exposed shower systems.
Where you are in Mumbai changes the answer
- Hard-water belts — Mira Road, Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar, parts of Thane, any borewell-fed building. Chrome and cleanable silicone shower nozzles. A matt black bathroom here costs the same to buy and much more to live with.
- Pump-fed towers — Powai, Ghodbunder Road, newer Goregaon and Andheri high-rises. Thermostatic controls and large rain showers actually work, so the premium is defensible.
- Older low-rise on gravity-fed supply — Bandra, Vile Parle, older Malad and Jogeshwari buildings. Do not buy a large rain shower. It spreads the same flow thinner and will disappoint you.

FAQ
How much does it cost to fit out a bathroom in Mumbai?
For fittings only - taps, mixers, shower, valves, wastes and accessories - budget ₹12,000-₹18,000 at the value level, ₹32,000-₹50,000 for an everyday specification and ₹95,000+ for a design-led bathroom. Sanitaryware, tiles, plumbing labour and civil work are separate and usually cost more than the fittings do.
What is a realistic fittings budget for a Mumbai 2 BHK?
₹64,000-₹93,000 all-in at the everyday specification: ₹35,000-₹45,000 for the primary bathroom in mid-range Jaquar, ₹14,000-₹20,000 for the second bathroom in Essco or Cera, and ₹15,000-₹28,000 for the kitchen sink and faucet.
How can I reduce the cost without buying poor fittings?
Mix the specification. Spend on the basin mixer and shower you touch daily; use the value range for angle valves, stop valves, health faucets, waste couplings and second-bathroom fittings. A ₹520 chrome stop valve does exactly the same job as a ₹4,710 gold one and nobody sees it. This typically removes 20-30% from a quote.
Do you sell WCs and wash basins?
No. We are a bath fittings dealer - faucets, mixers, showers, valves and accessories, plus kitchen faucets and kitchen sinks. Sanitaryware is a separate purchase, and mixing a sanitaryware brand with a different fittings brand is completely normal.
