The one question that decides your price

Is there a hot water line at your kitchen sink?

Most Indian kitchens do not have one. If yours does not, a sink mixer is ₹3,000 of lever you will never move — buy a sink cock at ₹2,090–₹3,608 and spend the difference on the sink.

If you do have hot water at the sink — increasingly common in Mumbai flats with a kitchen geyser — a single-lever mixer is worth every rupee. Washing greasy vessels in warm water is the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade in an Indian kitchen, and it is the reason the mixer category is 155 models deep against the cock's 65.

Check the wall behind your sink before you shop. Two pipe stubs means mixer; one means cock.

Wall-mounted or table-mounted

The second fork, and it is decided by your existing plumbing, not by preference.

Best forTraditional Indian kitchen layoutsModular kitchens, granite counters

A wall-mounted sink cock with a long swinging spout is the workhorse of the Indian kitchen: it reaches both bowls of a double sink and it lifts clear for filling a bucket. A table-mounted mixer looks better on a modular counter and reaches less far.

If your counter has no tap hole and your wall has stubs, wall-mounted is the only option that avoids drilling granite.

Pull-out mixers: worth it or not

Four models, ₹5,930–₹9,390 — roughly double a fixed-spout mixer.

Worth it if you regularly wash large vessels, tawa and kadhai, or rinse a deep double-bowl sink. The hose reaches into corners a fixed spout cannot.

Not worth it if you have a small single bowl and wash mostly plates. You are paying for a hose that adds one more thing to leak in five years.

For most Mumbai kitchens with a standard 24×18 sink, a good fixed-spout mixer at ₹6,776 beats a cheap pull-out at ₹5,930. Sizing is in the kitchen sink size guide.

Which series for a kitchen

Jaquar's kitchen depth is very uneven across series:

SeriesKitchen modelsPrice band
Florentine Prime35Mid
Fusion Prime30Mid
Queens / Queens Prime42Premium
Solo16Value–mid
Vignette Prime16Mid
Continental9Value

If you want a coloured finish in the kitchen, Queen's is effectively the only choice — 42 models, and it is the one range that carries kitchen taps through all seven finishes. In every other series the kitchen tap is chrome, with a few black options.

That matters if you are matching the kitchen to a black or gold bathroom scheme. See the Queen's price list, and check the gold fittings guide before assuming a gold kitchen tap exists — only six do.

Finish availability, honestly

Of 224 Jaquar kitchen faucets: 46 chrome, 19 black matt, 18 black chrome, 10 each in antique bronze, antique copper, graphite and stainless steel, and just 6 in gold bright PVD.

Chrome is the kitchen finish. Not for design reasons — because a kitchen tap gets handled with oily hands twenty times a day, and chrome takes that better than any coated finish. Black matt in a kitchen looks superb for a year and shows every fingerprint from day one.

If you want black in the kitchen, commit to wiping it. If that sounds unlikely, buy chrome and put the design budget in the sink.

FAQ

How much does a Jaquar kitchen tap cost?

A sink cock is ₹2,090–₹7,524 (median ₹3,608), a single-lever sink mixer ₹3,860–₹13,552 (median ₹6,776) and a pull-out mixer ₹5,930–₹9,390. The cheapest genuine Jaquar kitchen tap is ₹2,090.

Do I need a sink cock or a sink mixer?

Check the wall behind your sink. Two pipe stubs means you have a hot line and a mixer is worth it; one stub means a mixer is about ₹3,000 of lever you will never move — buy a sink cock instead.

Are pull-out kitchen mixers worth it?

Only if you regularly wash large vessels or have a deep double bowl. They cost roughly double a fixed-spout mixer. For a standard 24×18 sink, a good fixed-spout mixer at ₹6,776 beats a cheap pull-out.
